Found a Heart – Emily Hearn Music Video

In the fall of 2012, I stood in a North Carolina field by my friend Michael’s side as he married talented singer/songwriter and all around wonderful person, Emily Hearn. In the fall of this year, I got to direct a music video for a song Emily wrote about her wedding day. Emily and Michael have been touring the country this year in support of her new EP Promises. Found a Heart is one of five new songs on Promises, the follow up to her 2012 LP Red Balloon.

Emily had the idea of mixing performance footage with shots of her actual wedding video created by Asher Emmanuel. For the performance footage, we shot at the T.R.R. Cobb House in Athens, Georgia. My good friend Dan Duncan of Remedy Films DPed and edited the video. What we ended up with is an adorable heart grenade of a music video that I’m really proud of.

Check it out and try not to get all misty eyed…

Baselines (Music Video) – Atlanta Braves

Check out our music video in honor of the Atlanta Braves winning the NL East and their impending glorious playoff run!

BASELINES LYRICS

INTRO:
Turner Field get up!
Hey, hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey!

V1:
If you didn’t see, Atlanta run the league (ATL c’mon!),
If you didn’t read, SI magazine,
We rocked the NL East,
Sweeping left and right,
One month in and outta sight,

PC:
Ok it’s business time,
And we’re so underrated,
But in due time,
They’re gonna celebrate us,
Say hi to all the haters,
Hey hey hey!
Cause they know what our fate is,
Hey hey hey!
And that’s October greatness.

C:
And we’re the best team in the whole world!
We got the Uptons,
We got the Johnsons,
We’re pretty awesome.
The whole world!
They aint ready,
We got the Freddies,
We’ve won already,
All these baselines!
I got a feeling,
This post season,
We gon be winning,
It’s about time!
We punched our ticket,
To get that pennant,
We’re gonna win it.

V2:
Think you’re winning you are mental,
9th innings are so simple,
When you release the Kimbrel,
HE’S GOT THE FASTEST PITCH IN THIS PLACE!
You watch out Uggla,
Hey hey hey!
Cause Freddie loves ya,
Hey hey hey!
He’s gonna hug ya,
Hey hey hey!

PC2:
OK, the East is won,
But we’re not finished just yet,
Looks like we got the runs,
Not even breaking a sweat,
Marlin’s you weren’t a threat,
Hey hey hey!
Philly don’t you forget,
Hey hey hey!
Swatted some Nats and Mets,

C2:
And we’re the best team in the whole world!
We got the Uptons,
And the Johnsons,
We’re pretty awesome.
The whole world!
They aint ready,
We got the Freddies,
We’ve won already,
All those baselines!
I got a feeling,
This post season,
We gon be winning,
It’s about time!
We punched our ticket,
To get that pennant,
We’re gonna win it.

V3:
One thing I ask of you,
I don’t wanna hear you mention that nattitude,
Miami to NYC, and Philly dude,
And even DC got their team run through,
So lemme tell you what them braves’ll do,
It’s the 95 playoffs, dejavu,
Uh other teams go and form a queue,
And the commisioner’s trophy, we’re coming for you!

The Legend of El Oso Blanco (Music Video) – Atlanta Braves

Yesterday, we released a music video about the Atlanta Brave’s rookie sensation, Evan Gattis, called the Legend of El Oso Blanco. It features a shirtless hulk of a man, a big white bear costume, and easily one of the shortest pairs of mariachi pants I’ve ever worn on Turner Field.

It’s been a fun and sometimes chaotic few weeks leading up to yesterday’s release and I’m thrilled that it’s finally out for Braves country to enjoy. I wanted to post the video and shine a light on the people who made this thing happen.

Remedy Films
- These guys are the best in the business. I’ve worked with Remedy’s Dan Duncan on several projects over the past couple years and we’ve built a heckuva partnership. Check out Remedy’s website to see some more of the magic they create.

Andrew Averso
- Andrew was the driving force behind this project. He sent me a message on Twitter a couple months ago with the idea of doing a spaghetti western style song about El Oso Blanco and we ran with it. He wrote a lot of the song and played all the guitars on it (AND THAT TOMAHAWK CHOP SOLO IS SO AWESOME). It’s incredibly annoying how talented he is at guitar.

Nathan Smith
- Nathan’s the ridiculous voice you hear singing the prechorus and chorus. He wrote a ton of the song as well as produced, engineered, and mixed the track at his studio. The shots of him performing around the campfire are by far my favorites in the video.

The Braves
- They’ve been very supportive the past few months. I appreciate them tweeting out the video and getting behind this project (as well as Beasts from the East). And a big thank you to Melanie Catney for taking a small crew of mariachi’s and guys in bear costumes around the Ted last week.

The Van Baird Agency and the GetMickey.com Team at Keller Williams Realty
- Van and Mickey are the generous friends and sponsors behind this project.

Thanks to everyone who’s already viewed and shared the video. If you dig it, pass it along!

Party Matters: The Big Game

In January, I had the opportunity to be in a video directed by my friend Joe Jones for North Point Ministries’ Super Bowl Sunday services. I had previously helped Joe do some rewrites on the script originally written by Tyler Stanton so it was a lot of fun to help on the pre-production as well as the acting side. Check it out!

ChainDraw

I had the opportunity to write, direct, produce, and even act a little in a commercial for a game called Chaindraw in November. Chaindraw is the first game from the new up-and-coming company, Nymball Games. What I love about the guys at Nymball is that they are VERY out of the box when it comes to their approach to business. As you learn about the game, you’ll see what I mean. When they initially contacted me about developing a commercial, their only stipulation was that it had to be on the same level of ridiculousness that the game was. I was more than happy to oblige.

A lot of great people worked on this shoot. The biggest of shout-outs go to Remedy Films for the visuals, Tyler Stanton for his hilarity, and AC Smallwood for her clutch casting. Make sure you watch in 720p and enjoy!
